Base Commission: is the base (before incentives or increases) offered to a new affiliate to an affiliate program as a commission for generating leads, clicks, or sales.

Back Link:
Back Link is the term affiliates and affiliate merchants use to describe a link back to your website from another website. It is a SEO term.

Banner Ad:
A banner ad is creative design or image that comes in a variety of sizes used by affiliates to promote their affiliate program links. Not all banner ads are created equal. Make sure your affiliate merchant provides you with affiliate banners that have a clear ‘CALL to action’. As apposed to a banner ad that simply brands their business.

Business to Business or B2B:
The process of buying products and services between two businesses as apposed to between a business and a public consumer.

Blog:
A type of website utilizing a specific Content Manager System such as wordpress or type pad usually written based on the views opinions or knowledge of the blogger.

Blogging
:
A new verb relative to the blog. It is the action of posting items ( text, images, media) to a blog.


Bandwidth:
This term is a measurement of the data passed between a server and website. Usually measured in bits per second.
